Major Professor: Dr. Jay Belsky
While studying anthropology as an undergraduate, I worked directly with low-income families and their children as a community health worker for a local non-profit. Inspired by my experiences, I later attended the UC, Davis School of Medicine and completed a Master of Public Health degree. Concurrently, I interned at the California Department of Public Health and developed a statewide assessment of maternal mental health interventions. Since graduating, I worked as Clinical Research Coordinator at UC, San Francisco for the Preterm Birth Initiative. My research interests include stress physiology, parent-child relationships, intergenerational trauma, physiological regulation, the gut-brain axis and the development of resilience traits. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and mentoring other first-generation students interested in pursuing graduate school.
